About me

Sometimes
I wrestle with my demons,
and sometimes
we just snuggle.

I graduated from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) with a Masters in Counseling Psychology (Somatic Concentration) in the fall of 2018 and fulfilled my residency as an MFT trainee at the Center for Somatic Psychotherapy in downtown San Francisco counseling adult survivors of unresolved childhood relational trauma. As an Associate MFT I joined Grateful Heart and the Couples Center counseling couples through an emotionally-focused, mindfulness-based, attachment-informed frame. Since attaining licensure my work has been trauma-focused, primarily EMDR integrated with Hakomi, IFS, AEDP and other modalities. My passion is in helping clients resource, reprocess and resolve their trauma so that they can go on to live lives of intention, connection, vitality, hope and meaning.

Before becoming a therapist, I taught middle & high school literature and composition. I was also a reading specialist, primarily utilizing the Wilson reading system. Following my teaching career, I was the executive coordinator of programs at a meditation center, where I also taught meditation and led workshops on applying the mind of meditation to the creative process. Curious about meditation from a young age, I began meditating with my partner after learning that mindfulness/awareness practice had been shown to help in the treatment of anxiety and depression, both of which I had suffered from for many years. Mindfulness practice taught me how to tend and befriend my demons, which in turn led me to therapy education & practice, and to fulfilling a longing to help others tend and befriend their demons too.

When not being a therapist, you can find me playing with our cat Bean, going for walks with my partner out at Point Pinole, & seeking great quotes & poems while listening to certain songs on repeat.
